John J. Kravitz, MD, FACG, AGAF
Dr. John J. Kravitz is a native Philadelphian who attended
Central High School and graduated from Ursinus
College. He graduated from Temple University School of
Medicine with honors in 1972. His internship and
residency were completed at the Hospital of the Medical
College of Pennsylvania.  Following his residency, he
was appointed Chief Medical Resident at the Hospital of
the Medical College of Pennsylvania and the Veteran’s
Administration Hospital. In 1977, he finished his
fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Hospital of the
University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kravitz is certified by the
American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology
and Internal Medicine.

John A. Volpe, DO
Dr. John A. Volpe graduated cum laude with a Bachelor
of Science degree from Princeton University and a
Masters in Chemical Engineering. He graduated from the
College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des
Moines, Iowa in the top one-quarter of the class. He
interned at Delaware Valley Medical Center in
Langhorne, Pennsylvania and was Medical Resident of
the Year in 1985 and 1987 at that facility.  Dr. Volpe
completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology was at
Fitzgerald Mercy Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania
and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
David R. Salowe, MD, FACP
Dr. David R. Salowe graduated with High Honors and
High Distinction in the field of Chemistry from Rutgers
College.  His academic acheivements earned him
membership into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and
recognition as a Henry Rutgers Scholar. He received
his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School. He completed his internship and
residency at Robert Wood ]ohnson University Hospital
in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was appointed
Chief Medical Resident in his final year. Dr. Salowe
completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1991.
Craig R. Barash, MD
Scott A. Modena, MD
Dr. Scott A. Modena, originally from Queens, New York
graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State
University of New York at Albany. He earned his
medical degree from the State University of New York
at Syracuse.  He developed an interest in
Gastroenterology and Hepatology while training at the
V.A. hospital.  Following medical school he moved to
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to complete an Internal
Medicine residency at Temple University Hospital.  Dr.
Modena completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology
and Hepatology while at Temple.
Dr. Kravitz is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of
Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Bucks County Medical Society, Burlington County Medical
Society,and the state medical societies of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He currently serves
on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He is
Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological
Association.  Dr. Kravitiz is also a founding member of the South Jersey Gastrointestinal
Group.
Dr. Volpe is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, with a
subspecialty in Gastroenterology.  He holds membership in the Pennsylvania Osteopathic
Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Pennsylvania
Gastroenterology Association and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians
and Surgeons.
Dr. Salowe is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and
Internal Medicine. He also holds memberships in the American Gastroenterological
Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Physicians,
the Bucks County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American
Medical Association. He has served as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Temple University
Hospital. In 2005, he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Barash is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology. He
holds memberships in the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of
Gastroenterology, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the
Bucks County Medical Society.  
Dr. Modena is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal
Medicine and Gastroenterology. He holds memberships in the American Medical
Association, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Pennsylvania Medical Society.  
Dr. Craig R. Barash earned his Gastroenterology
and Hepatology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson
University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he
completed an extra year in advanced endoscopy
therapy focusing on ERCP. He served as a
clinical instructor of Medicine and
Gastroenterology at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital.
